🏅 HISTORY IN MOTION
The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire board came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.

More Rustic Scoops! 🍦

Yesterday Ms. McLean’s grade 1/2 class enjoyed a beautiful walk from Colonel Cameron Public School to Rustic Scoops in Corunna, and it was such a wonderful experience!
A special thank you to Rustic Scoops, who is always so kind, patient, and welcoming with all of the students. It means so much to have local businesses that genuinely care about our kids and help make outings like this so memorable.
We are truly grateful to live in such a supportive and caring community. The weather was lovely, the walk was beautiful, and the smiles on the students’ faces said it all.
Thank you as well to all of the chaperones who volunteered their time to help make the day a success. Your support is greatly appreciated!

We love Rustic Scoops!

What an exciting day in Kindergarten! 🐣💛

After weeks of patiently observing and learning about the life cycle of a chicken, our students were thrilled to witness the first chicks hatching from their eggs in our classroom incubator today!

There was so much excitement as little peeps could be heard and tiny chicks began making their way into the world. This hands-on experience has brought our learning to life and given students a memorable opportunity to observe growth and change firsthand.

Our FDK students recently enjoyed a special visit to Antonio’s Pizza as part of their learning about community and the people and places that help make it thrive! 🍕🏘️

Students had the opportunity to explore a local business, learn about the important role it plays in our community, and meet some of the people who work there. Through this hands-on experience, they made meaningful connections between their classroom learning and the world around them.

A big thank you to the team at Antonio’s Pizza for welcoming our students and helping bring our community study to life!
