WHO’S TEACHING OUR MICROSOFT EXCEL COURSE?

Let’s just say… you’re learning from someone who REALLY knows his stuff!

Meet Steve Dovas, IT Infrastructure & Training Specialist at Tri-County Literacy Council!

With 20+ years of IT experience in systems, cloud technologies and networking, Steve has led major IT projects and helped organizations make technology work better.

But here’s what makes Steve especially great for teaching Excel: he LOVES teaching!

Steve has trained 500+ IT professionals in networking, virtualization and cloud computing. As a former instructor at NAV CANADA, he developed and taught programs on complex IT systems, helping teams build their technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Now, he’s bringing all that experience to Tri-County Literacy Council—helping our learners become more confident and capable with Microsoft Excel.

In our FREE Microsoft Excel training program, learners can build practical skills in:

📊 Worksheets and workbooks
🧮 Formulas and calculations
📋 Tables and formatting
📈 Charts
💼 Real-life workplace applications

Whether you're brushing up on your skills, preparing for employment, or simply want to feel more confident using Excel, you’ll be learning from an experienced IT professional AND passionate educator.

This class starts October 20th (two evenings per week).

Learning the tools of the trade!

Our Retail Associate students are getting hands-on practice using a cash register and point-of-sale system—an important skill for today’s retail workplace.

Pictured at the register is trainer Barbara Leduc, also known as "Mrs. B" (previous owner of Mrs. B's Gifts and Home Decor).

But there’s much more to being a successful retail associate! Students are also building skills in customer service, communication, teamwork, retail math, technology, store procedures, merchandising, and health & safety.

These practical skills help learners feel more confident and prepared for real-world retail jobs.

Learn. Practice. Build skills. Get ready for work!

Employers are hiring!
