Activity: Giant Dots and Boxes

ACE Childcare teachers simply placed the activity in an outdoor setting and students naturally gravitated towards it on their own following each other as they had a basic understanding of connecting the dots. With some help of verbal and visual clues, they started following each other to complete the activity.
The learning goal was to develop fine motor skills, improve hand-eye coordination, and boost problem-solving abilities.

ACE Childcare students enjoyed Building Spaghetti and Marshmallows Tower few weeks ago. Group was given the following supplies.
•20 sticks of dry spaghetti
•6 large marshmallows
•20 small marshmallows
Preparation and setup time varied but overall, they spent about 60 mins with this activity and the Learning Goal was for students to explore the design process, thinking, doing, prototyping, and iteration: a great STEAM challenge.

• Plan, implement, lead, and evaluate specific expectations of multi-age (1-5 year) curriculum to ensure ACE CHILDCARE Playing to Learn program is maintained
• Support and deal with sensitive families and parent’s experiences and situations with their children's behaviors
• Actively participate in programs with children, while being able to coordinate care and meet the demands of staff, children, and families
• Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families, providing quality customer service and building meaningful relationships
• Actively ensure licensing standards and safety standards are maintained for all childcare settings and outings
• Execute behaviour care plans, utilizing a child-centered approach by engaging parents and educators and other ACE CHILDCARE staff
• A sincere love for enriching the lives of children through play-based programs and a commitment to providing quality childcare
We would love to hear from candidates:
• who hold an Early Childhood Educator Certificate.
• Must be 19 years of age (as per Provincial licensing standards)
• Enthusiasm, energy, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary to support a positive team environment
• Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
