Today we hosted a Paralympic Watch Party to cheer on Team Canada Para Hockey against team Czechia. What a great turnout from our 1st and 2nd year students, even in the snow!
Pancakes for 200 and they were all gone by the end of the event!
A big thank you to Douglas College Foundation and Douglas College Alumni for co- sponsoring and financially supporting our event.
Canada 🇨🇦 won and are the top of their pool. They next play China in the semifinals on March 13.

Another excellent learning opportunity for our students in the gym! Thank you to Donna and Claire from SportAbility and retired Canadian Paralympic Team Sitting Volleyball captain Danielle Ellis Volleyball BC for expanding the experiences for our students. Today's adventures included Para Hockey, Boccia and Sitting Volleyball.
Not only were there lots of laughs and learning, the students all had a chance to hold Danielle's bronze medal from Paris 2024. What a thrill.

Therapeutic Recreation Month continues with some of our students presenting their research and service-learning projects as part of a collaboration between BCTRA and our department. Student Research night is now a regular TR Month initiative. The quality of work being produced by our students continues to highlight the great work being done by this program, students and faculty alike. Congratulations to all involved.
And to make this evening even more amazing, 1st and 2nd year students came together for some social and educational time, engaging in social activities prior to the presentations and then watching the presentations together in the TR Classroom. Thank you to 2nd year students Jordan and Nels for organizing and supporting this event and to all who attended.
