Hello everyone! I am seeing that new people are following and liking this page. I am having a hard time deleting Brooklyn SS on Facebook as it no longer exists! We have now moved to Airport Elementary since September 2024.

Hello Wonderful Families,

I hope you have had a fun-filled summer with many exciting adventures! I feel like time flew by and we are back at work getting things all ready for our upcoming year 🙂

If you haven’t already heard, there will no longer be a StrongStart at Brooklyn Elementary. We are moving to Airport Elementary and our wonderful Jenn Johnson will be facilitating it.

Please start following Airport SS and in due time, I will close this page.

Hello Families,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day we have here today and doing something exciting!

Now as our school year just ended and if you haven’t already heard, there are some changes happening to Brooklyn SS

SS will no longer be present at Brooklyn starting September 2024 as it’s moving to Airport Elementary! Thank you to all the wonderful staff, families and children for having us all these years, you will be missed! Airport Elementary, SS is looking forward to starting a new journey with you!

And speaking of journey, it was a hard decision but I’m excited to be moving to Queenesh Elementary as the SS Facilitator. And just today I found out that Jenn Johnson will be the Airport SS Facilitator and she is wonderful!!

Brooklyn SS Families, I want to thank each and every one of you for sharing your children and your lives with me, you all are doing a fantastic job and it’s been a pleasure getting to know you all! I know it is not my final goodbye as I hope to see you during Fresh Air Fridays and maybe at Queenesh here and there 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful summer with many adventures and memories to create…

Hi everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I can’t believe this is our last few days together…where did the time go?

Here is what’s coming up for this week:

Monday June 24 - Fieldtrip to Lazo Marsh Bird Sanctuary from 9:30 to 11:30. Park around Lazo road and I will meet you at the entrance. I will bring some binoculars, bird food and let’s go enjoy a little nature walk.

Tuesday June 25 - Some Firefighters and Firetrucks will be coming to visit us at SS at around 10am.

Wednesday June 26 - Our last day of SS together so let’s have a little potluck! Bring a dish or whatever you like to share with everyone!

Here is what’s coming up for this week as we have some busy days ahead!

Monday June 17 - Hands on Farm at Filberg from 10 to 12:45. We will go in groups of about 10 and for about half an hour so we don’t overwhelm the animals. Please bring 1$ per child for donation to give before going in.

Tuesdays June 18 - Buddy Day 9:15 to 10
If anything changes, I will let you know.

Wednesday June 19 - Beach Day at Kye Bay with Brooklyn School 9 to 11:30. We will meet at the playground and then you are welcome to explore away.

Thursday June 20 - All library books need to be returned by today.

Friday June 21 - Last Fresh Air Friday at Lewis
Centre splash park 9 to 11:30.

Our Fresh Air Friday tomorrow is at Kye Bay for our Year End BBQ from 9:00-12:00. Come join us for some hotdogs, veggie dogs, salads and a cool treat :)

Here is what’s coming up for this week:

Monday June 10th - Discovery Aquarium at school.

The Discovery Aquarium from Campbell River is bringing their school programs to us! It will run in the library and we are scheduled from 11:15 to noon. We will head in the playground for abit of fun earlier so there will be no Gym time tomorrow.

Tuesday June 11th - Buddies are in 9:15 to 10

Wednesday June 12 - normal day

Thursday June 13 - Jenn (our wonderful Sub) will be joining us in class

Friday June 14 - Fresh Air Friday Barbecue at Kye Bay (more details to come)

Hi everyone,

If you are heading to SS tomorrow, please park in the staff parking and the little gravel lot. It is Go By Bike Week and therefore, the parking lot will be closed to traffic for the entire school day.

Our Fresh Air Friday is at the Goose Spit from 9 to 11:30 on a sunny day. Please dress accordingly, bring your beach toys if you like and let’s go have some fun!
