Commencement Update: This is a message from Collingwood Collegiate Institute for all students attending commencement. We are excited to be hosting our 2016 Commencement Celebration at the Collingwood Curling Club this Wednesday, June 29th at 4 pm. We have a record number of graduates participating. Each graduate has been allocated two guest tickets for entry into the Club. Given the larger venue, we are fortunate to be able to accommodate a limited number of additional guests. Families are able to request one additional ticket by e-mailing [email protected]. These requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis using the e-mail time-stamp beginning at 12 noon on Monday, June 27th. Successful requests will receive a confirmation e-mail. Please note there is no overflow area and all guests must have a ticket for entry into the event. This information is also posted on our school website: cci.scdsb.on.ca.

The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre is looking for an Administrative Assistant this summer. Details as follows:
- 39.5 hours per week
- $14.91 per hour
- General office duties, computer work, managing phones, filing, etc.
- Must currently be a student and be returning to school in the fall.

Volunteer Opportunity:
The Port Music Festival is taking place June 18-19 at the Collingwood Waterfront. They are in need of volunteers to assist with set up/tear down, providing assistance to the public, band set up, clean up, etc. You can earn up to 20 community service hours.

The Town of Collingwood is preparing a Waterfront Master Plan and are looking for feedback from Youth. You will earn community service hours for participating. Please see the poster attached for more information about how you can become involved.

New Youth Centre and Volunteer Opportunity:
The town of Collingwood is making plans for a new Youth Centre and they want your input. This is a great opportunity for teenagers to let the town know what they would like to see in our community for teens. You can even earn community service hours for participating in the planning stages. Attention Graduating Students,
If you plan on attending College. University or are proceeding to an Apprenticeship and you need financial assistance, please come to Guidance to pick up a CCI Bursary Application form. You will have to provide information about your family income and demonstrate financial need, this information will be kept confidential.
Students who are applying for bursaries should also be applying for OSAP, please take the time complete the OSAP estimator on-line at osap.gov.on.ca to see if you will qualify for financial aid.
Students must apply for Bursaries in their graduating year, so even if you are planning on returning next year, you must apply this year if you are graduating. Bursary applications are due in Guidance on Wednesday, May 11th - late applications cannot be accepted so don’t delay!!
Attention all Graduating Students: OSAP Presentation
A guest speaker will be visiting CCI to give information and answer questions about how to apply for the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). She will also discuss other topics relating to funding your post-secondary education. All students and parents/guardians are welcome to attend. The information is relevant for anyone proceeding to College, University or Apprenticeship pathways.
The presentation will be held in the CCI library at 12:25 on May 16th.
You may also want to take the time to complete the OSAP estimator on-line at osap.gov.on.ca it will give you a good indication of whether or not you will qualify for financial aid from the government.
Summer Job Opportunity:
Shore to Slope Management is looking for responsible and reliable students to work full and part-time as pool attendants this summer. Students must have reliable transportation to Blue Mountain. Students will be required to maintain pool cleanliness, check in guests and enforce pool rules. Training will be provided. Students must be 16 years or older. Scholarship Opportunity:
The Stewart L. Page Scholarship is open to students of North Simcoe County who will be continuing to College or University to study Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary science, Food and Nutrition or Clothing and Textiles. Award amounts range from $300 to $1000. Applications can be picked up in Guidance and are due to the selection committee before June 30th.
