We’re proud to announce that Phil McNichol has been named Athletic Director & Head Coach of the NSA.

With decades of elite alpine leadership across Canadian, U.S., and international systems, Phil brings world-class experience to lead our High Performance Alpine Pathway (U16–FIS). Most recently, as High Performance Director of the Alpine Program at Alpine Canada Alpin, he guided Canada’s national team to an Olympic medal in 2022 and a historic four World Championship medals in 2023.

As the NSA relaunches as an athlete-centered alpine academy, Phil will lead our High Performance Alpine Pathway and support recruitment for the Class of 2026–2027, marking an exciting new chapter in our legacy.
