Most golfers can’t pass this 6-shot distance test.
Introducing the GSPro Ladder Challenge
This might be the simplest drill I’ve found for actually lowering your scores.
Start at 50 yards and work up in 50-yard increments:
50
100
150
200
250
300
The goal at each distance is to land the ball on the fly inside the yellow circle around the pin before moving on.
Sounds easy.
Until you try it.
The brilliance of this drill is its simplicity and accountability. You quickly find out if you can actually control your distances. — one of the biggest separators between good golfers and great golfers.
If you can reliably hit your numbers like this, your scores will plummet.
⸻
Basic Rules
• Start at 50 yards
• 10 attempts per distance
• Ball must land in the yellow circle
• Complete it before moving on
Once you improve, reduce it to 5 attempts per distance.
Today it took me 9 total shots to complete all 6 distances — my current personal record.
⸻
If your driver carries around 200 yards, try running the ladder in 25-yard increments instead.
Example:
50
75
100
125
150
175
200
Same rules. Same yellow circle.
⸻
Hard Mode – The Consecutive Rule
Miss a distance and you move back one level.
Example:
50 ✅
100 ✅
150 ❌
Now you go back to 100 yards before trying 150 again.
This turns it into a serious pressure test.
⸻
If you run GSPro, try the GSPro Ladder Challenge and tag me.
Also tagging because this is one of the coolest ways I’ve found to use the software.
Current record: 9 shots.
Let’s see if anyone can beat it.

This is what happens when you fully commit to the process, not the payoff. I went down to see two winters ago. And it was the best lesson I’d ever taken. But I’m a dad with two young ones, so getting the reps in hasn’t been easy.
Real swing change isn’t about chasing perfect positions — it’s about understanding the laws that actually control ball flight, and building a motion that matches them. That takes time, patience, and a lot of uncomfortable reps.
The swing you see on the right came from sharpening fundamentals, training intention, and staying disciplined through months where the progress was invisible.
If you’re working on your own swing, remember this:
You can’t skip the time it takes for new patterns to become natural.
But if you stay consistent and trust the work… the transformation will come.
Shoutout for holding me accountable this winter with my body. You definitely should invest in some time with him.
finally looks nicey at the top. Thanks pro.
