🧡 Orange Shirt Day 🧡

Students at HAS recognized Orange Shirt Day on Tuesday through stories, conversation and time outside.

Grade 1 students learned about Truth and Reconciliation and the importance of treating everyone with kindness, respect, and understanding. 🌈 During LAND time, they created nature art hearts using materials that they found outdoors—a beautiful reminder that kindness comes from the heart. 🍂🧡

Grade 3A took Science outside for a Hot Wheels investigation! Students tested which cars travelled the farthest, completed repeated trials, measured their results, and worked hard to keep their tests fair. It was a fun, hands-on way to practice measuring, collecting data, and thinking like scientists!

We are looking forward to this formalized partnership with our community helpers!

Introducing Our School Partnership Program

Crowsnest Pass Protective Services is excited to introduce a new School Partnership Program with our local schools. Each school will be partnered with a Community Peace Officer who will visit throughout the school year, connect with students and staff, volunteer, and participate in school activities.

The goal is simple: build relationships before we need them. We want our Peace Officers to be familiar and approachable faces in our schools, creating positive connections and opportunities to work together proactively.

The program will look a little different at each school, allowing our officers and school staff to find meaningful ways to connect and contribute.

We're grateful to our local schools for welcoming this partnership and look forward to a great year of building stronger connections with the youth in our community!

🎭 Trickster Theatre is coming back to HAS! 🎭

We’re so excited to welcome Trickster Theatre back to HAS this spring! Students will experience an immersive artist-in-residence program where professional actors transform our gymnasium into a black-box theatre, creating an unforgettable hands-on arts experience for our students.

This opportunity is made possible, in part, through funding from the Province of Alberta’s Alberta Foundation for the Arts. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to share more details in the New Year!
