Emma Convey from CTV was in Kentville this morning to talk with me about the challenges facing our community.

For almost a year, the Town has been meeting with Opportunities and Social Development about Open Arms.

Weā€™ve talked about the stats, police data, crime, vandalism, fires, drug use and the lack of supports.

The department said the plan is to relocate the shelter.

I want results.

The current situation is contributing to what weā€™re seeing in our community. There isnā€™t enough space, and there arenā€™t enough supports.

Kentville cannot continue carrying a load that belongs to the entire Valley.

So letā€™s get it done:

Find the site.
Put the supports in place.
Find a provider that can deliver.
Make the decision.

Weā€™ve had the conversations.

Now itā€™s time for action
