Our grade 7 students and staff had an incredible experience on Friday! Last week, each student had the opportunity to add their handprint to our tipi, and this week, Dani and Mariah from CLFN brought knowledge keeper Jonathan Martial to teach us about raising a tipi! He taught us about how to raise the tipi, the meanings behind all of the poles, and how the work that goes into raising a tipi is like the work needed to build a strong family.
We are also thankful to have had the opportunity to welcome Assistant Superintendent Janalee Slaney and Board Chair Karen Packard to learn and be with us for this wonderful experience.
Thank you so much to Jonathan for sharing your knowledge with us, and to everyone who made this such a special experience for our grade 7s!

We’re getting ready to recognize our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation… Last Friday, the admin team and Ms. Normand worked with Dani and Mariah from CLFN and our grade 7 students to ā€œmake their markā€ on our Tipi. It’s currently drying and getting ready to be raised on our front lawn next Friday. If you would like to be part of the process, give us a call at the school!
