This one means a little more to me.

I've known Cory for over 10 years. We used to train together at another gym, and when that gym closed and I eventually opened Wake The Dead out of my garage, somehow he found me again. πŸ˜‚ He came looking for somewhere quiet to train, and from there, I guess we made a little history together.

Cory was there during the early garage days and has watched this place grow into what it is today. And somewhere along the way, he grew with it too.

He's been through some incredibly hard things. There was a point when I honestly didn't know if I would see him training with us again. But he came back. He trusted us enough to start again, let us guide him, and slowly built himself back up.

After knowing this man for more than a decade, I can confidently say this is the best shape I've ever seen him in. He's strong as hell, his nutrition is probably better than mine πŸ˜‚, and physically you can see the work he's put in.

But hearing him talk about his confidence, clarity, and what this place has done for him outside of the gym means more to me than any physical transformation.

Because Cory **earned** where he is today.

He listened, became patient, stayed consistent, trusted the process and did the work. I want him to give himself credit for that.

When Cory talks about the people here and how he feels when he walks through our doors, that's exactly why we created Wake The Dead.

Hearing him say these things reminds me that we're doing something right.

Not everyone will understand the value of what we've built here, and that's okay.

Cory does. And he's living proof to me that we're doing something right. πŸ’€β€οΈ

And Cory... after all these years, you're pretty much stuck with us now. We'll make room for the wheelchair when the time comes. πŸ˜‚πŸ’ͺ

We're here to challenge you, teach you and help you get better.

We're not here to chase the latest trend or give you something new just because you're bored. Training is a lifestyle and progress takes time.

Funny enough, Brendan wasn't actually the one who found us... his wife found the gym for him. πŸ˜‚ He was looking to get more active again, get back into shape, lose some weight, build muscle, and just feel stronger and healthier.

Brendan joined us in January, and one thing I've really come to respect about him is how he makes fitness work around his life. He has a busy schedule, he's a dad, baby #2 is on the way, and spending time with his family is important to him. That means training can't always happen perfectly every single week β€” and that's okay.

What matters is that he never uses a busy period as a reason to completely give up. He does what he can, pays attention to his nutrition, and always finds his way back to the gym.

And when he's here, he's HERE. He listens, he works, he doesn't complain, and if we put a goal on the table, he'll do his best to follow through with it. He's pretty quiet, but you can always throw a joke his way and he'll take it. πŸ˜‚ He's just one of those genuinely good dudes who's nice to have around.

And can we talk about the nutrition for a second? This man is ALWAYS finding a way to get more protein into something. πŸ˜‚ I've gotten recipes from Brendan that I've actually gone home and tried myself. He's really taken ownership of that side of his training, and it shows.

His muscle gain, his strength, his body composition... you can absolutely see the difference from when he first walked through our doors in January.

Brendan, I'm incredibly proud of how far you've come. You don't need your life to revolve around the gym to make progress. You make fitness fit into your life, control the things you can control, and when life gets busy, **you always find your way back.** πŸ’ͺπŸ’€

Also, keep the high-protein recipes coming. πŸ˜‚ I love getting the credit when I pass all these nutrition ideas on to my other clients... but to be fair, a good amount of them actually came from Brendan. I'll keep taking the credit though. πŸ˜‚πŸ’€

I asked a few of our members a very simple question:

**β€œWhy did you come to the gym today?”**

And I loved how different the answers were.

To move their body. To deal with stress. To feel younger. Because Thursday night is gym night. Because somewhere along the way, training simply became part of their routine.

See... it doesn't have to be that hard. πŸ˜‚ Make it part of your routine, find some friends who keep you accountable, and eventually coming to the gym becomes less of something you *have* to do and more of a treat you actually look forward to.

And honestly, I think that's a pretty good place to get to. πŸ’€πŸ’ͺ

So now I'm curious β€” **why did YOU come to the gym today?**

There is a big difference between just working out and actually learning how to train.

Jenn had been on and off with training for years, and one of the reasons she chose Semi-Private Personal Training was because she wanted to finally learn how to do things properly, progress at the right pace, and stop ending up back at square one.

And I think a lot of people can relate to that.

Sometimes you don't need to work harder. You need someone to slow you down when you need it, push you when you're ready, and teach you how to progress without guessing.

That's a huge part of what we do in our Semi-Private Personal Training.

You still get your own program and coaching, but you get to train alongside a small group of people working toward their own goals too.

You don’t need a new workout every week to keep making progress.

I think sometimes we confuse variety with progress. We get bored, so we assume we need to change what we're doing. But if you constantly change exercises, you never really give yourself the chance to get good at them.

Repeat the movement. Learn how it feels. Improve your technique. Add a rep. Control it better. Add weight when it actually makes sense.

Your program should absolutely change over time, but there should be a reason for the change.

You don't need your training to entertain you every single day. Sometimes you just need to do the work and try to do it a little better than you did last time.

Stop chasing new. Start chasing progress.

Train With Purpose. πŸ’€

If you've met Karina, you've probably noticed one thing pretty quickly... she's way nicer than I am. πŸ˜‚

She genuinely cares about people. She doesn't care where you come from or what your fitness level is. All she wants is to help you become a better version of yourself whatever that means to you.

Training has been a huge part of Karina's life for a long time and she just wants people to enjoy it as much as she does. She knows it doesn't come naturally to everyone, which is why she's so patient. She'll make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk through the door, but don't let that fool you... she'll still make you work. Somehow she's mastered being gentle but effective.

She's also the coach who's asking about your weekend, remembering the little things you told her and genuinely getting to know you not because she has to, but because that's just who she is. We're lucky to have her on our team.

If you're looking for a coach who will support you, challenge you, and help you enjoy the process, book a FREE Consultation. We'd love to introduce you to Coach Karina.
