Mini corrective trim case study

Shorty ran away with my heart on the first night we brought him home. It was my son's 16th birthday, June 11, 2012. I knew I had a gem when he came off the trailer, after living by himself for years, to kids playing soccer, dogs barking, parents arriving and me DESPERATE to trim his hooves, and he just looked around and said COOL! No fear whatsoever. After I trimmed his gross feet, I turned him out with my little herd of minis, thinking he would be over joyed....NO, he escaped while we were having cake, and ran about 5 km to the neighbors......By the time we found him, it was 11pm, and she had him in her house!!! She did not want to give him back, but I had fallen in LOVE. Shorty is my dream pony.....I LOVE HIM! Birgitta.

Chronic founder /Neglect case study

I met "little joe" in 2011, and he had feet similar to these pics. The shocking thing was he was half this size, meaning he must have been a yearling....:( I informed the owner that he needed regular hoof care/ more movement and was met with arrogance and hostility. When leaving the premiss, I mentioned to a concerned relative that when he got sick of the little dude, to call me and I would take him in a heartbeat. Three years later the call came, and we dropped what we were doing to haul up to Old's, AB to pick him up. When I opened the trailer to discover this beautiful soul, 3x the size, and feet like this it was very difficult....His savior was the relative that never stopped trying to help little Joe. He also came with a "donkey thingy".....which turns out to be an old soul, Oliver, the Hinny. His album is to follow.
*Update* Sundance is officially part of The Pony Project in terms of training! We've started his groundwork and hopefully as his feet slowly recover from their neglect, he'll be able to be trained into an awesome kids' partner and mount. :)
