A home away from home

This is a heartbreaking post for me to share.

A little wild ones family has had a tragic loss. As anyone who knows me will know I treat my dayhome families as if they are my own family. These children will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Tonight I will light a candle for Ania and her children. I am sending love, my sympathies and any help I can.

Christmas is in the air!

A new favorite thing to do on our daily adventure is find our favorite decorated house! The grinch is an everyday winner! We've been enjoying our simple crafts and sensory bins and they have all been child led and made from the ideas and imaginations from our little wild ones.

I have one happy boy this morning!

Miss Jolene scored some pretty cool fort building materials.

As an educator it is not what i should be teaching them at certain stages and ages..it is listening and watching what peaks their minds and curiosity, what challenges them to use their creativity and imagination. What makes their hearts happy and teaches them to share that joy with others and work as a team..

That is what I observe while I watch my little wild ones using a "simple" gross motor activity using materials to build forts and whatever else their creative minds think of.

Busy Monday!

Pd days are our favorite! Big sisters get to spend the day with us and we get to just flow with the day.

Today we wrote letters to Santa to send out in the mail!

Starting off the Christmas season with festive pancakes!

This guy have been challenging himself in the last few weeks with fine and gross motor activities and figuring out different textures! He was pleasantly surprised to see the colors change and swirl.

Happy Friday Wild ones families and friends πŸ’š

This week has flown right by!

We have been very busy adjusting to a new schedule with the season changing and the cold weather coming in.

We have been focusing much more on indoor activities that intrigue our minds and finding our dayhome environment changing to follow what our interests are.

The children have very much enjoyed learning about snowmen, the season change and counting down the days to when November will turn to December, they have also loved painting with different types of tools like sponges, brushes, corks, toilet paper rolls and ofcourse our hands..we made a ton of snow storm art this week and messes..we also tried different textures to play and work with such as kinetic sand, water and rice bin.

Our NUMBER 1 activity was still fort building and using every single item in the dayhome... πŸ˜† Miss Jolene will be surprising the kiddos with a few extra things to add to the fort building corner..yes we have a whole corner for it now.

Happy Friday!
