Ahh September is coming! How exciting/stressful/overwhelming/wonderful is that?! We rarely have the opportunity to welcome new members into our Small But Mighty community so we wanted to share a little bit about how partnering with our families makes this place intentional and special. Covering faces on our social media 📸:

At SBM, we intentionally cover children’s faces in our social media posts as a way of protecting their privacy and honouring their rights.

This practice is rooted in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which recognizes every child’s right to privacy, dignity, and protection. As educators, we believe that children deserve the opportunity to grow up without a permanent digital footprint being created on their behalf before they are old enough to understand or consent to it. We choose to celebrate their learning , creativity and joy of childhood while protecting their right to decide what they share as they grow 💕

Every program is different, but we invite everyone to join the conversation of social media and respecting the privacy of childhood in an digital world ☀️
