We recently had the pleasure of providing a 2-day Heart & Stroke Intermediate First Aid course for the team at Limpact International, held at Venture13 in Cobourg.

Our training focused on practical, hands-on skills that can make a real difference when an emergency happens, including:

🩹 Bandaging for impaled objects
🦾 Applying a sling using a triangular bandage
🧍 Performing a log roll for suspected spinal injuries
💪 Using a SAM splint (sugar-tong splint) for an elbow injury

Northumberland CPR Training recently had the opportunity to train the team at Stadtke Plumbing & Heating in a 1-Day Heart & Stroke Basic First Aid Level C with AED course.

The day included plenty of practical, hands-on training and realistic scenarios designed to help participants feel confident responding when an emergency happens.

➡️ Bleeding control — practicing bandaging techniques for a serious arterial bleed.

🚨 Important WSIB First Aid Training Changes Coming June 22, 2026 🚨

Ontario's Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) is launching a modernized First Aid Program on June 22, 2026.

Some of the key changes include:
✅ New course names:
• Emergency First Aid ➡️ Basic First Aid
• Standard First Aid ➡️ Intermediate First Aid

✅ Training aligned with the latest national CSA standards

✅ Enhanced quality and consistency across all approved training providers

✅ More flexibility for Intermediate First Aid recertification

The good news? Any valid WSIB-approved certificates issued before June 22, 2026, will remain valid until their expiry date.
