Thursday marked our Terry Fox run. The students learned about his life and why we run in support of his legacy. Thank you to Serena and Ashley, who provided the refreshments!

It has been a truly beautiful beginning to the new school year, focusing on our first theme: Getting Acquainted. We have been working on developing our core competency of Social Awareness & Responsibility, while deepening our virtues of courtesy and cooperation and building our emotional literacy skills. This helps create the school-wide and classroom culture for the rest of the year, supporting each student to work towards understanding their roles, rights, and responsibilities.

This culminated in our 2 days at Camp Pringle, working together, crafting, drumming, eating and camping.

A special thank you to the parents and grandparents who volunteered and helped this camp be the best yet. In particular, Linda and Ted for providing 120 dinners, 80 breakfasts, and all the snacks!

Once again, our students defeated the adults in tug o war! There was much joy, fun, and some silly dress up races for our oddly competitive sports day.

We welcome back our upper grades from their Salt Spring Island adventure; kayaking, hiking, swimming and camping over three days last week. An incredible way to see out the year with friends, exploring and getting to know themselves in new ways.

Our annual Cobble Hill hike was as beautiful as ever; glorious sunshine, expansive vistas, and older buddies supporting younger buddies up the hill.
