Recently, a Huron County Home Child Care Provider took the children in their care to the Huron County Museum and thought it was, " a pretty cool place to take kids"! As they walked there, they talked about their heritage and how they lived many years ago. They were excited to see the train! What a great visit!

Did you know that Huron Perth Public Health has a childcare guide for communicable diseases? In the Communicable Diseases section, you will find an A-Z listing of communicable diseases. Review the following guidelines to determine when it is safe for a child to return to home childcare after contracting a communicable disease.

Huron Perth Public Health recommends that children should not return to childcare until they are feeling well enough to participate in usual activities and are fever-free for 24 hours. If a child is vomiting or has diarrhea, they should not return to a home childcare program until 48 hours have passed with no vomiting and/or diarrhea.

This International Youth Day (August 12), we celebrate the hopes, dreams, and potential of young people everywhere.

This year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," reminds us that while every young person's journey is unique, they all deserve opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
