In June we completed our Year End Celebration 🎉 It was a lovely afternoon of music playing from all the students! Congratulations to all the performers 🥳 You're hard paid off!

Summer is just around the corner ☀️ Have you ever thought about piano lessons for your child? I have two summer camps that are perfect for the new student to try out piano.

🎵 First, is the Preschool Group Summer Camp! This camp, for ages 3-5, will run for 6 weeks from July 16 to August 20 from 4:00pm to 4:45pm. Cost for the camp is $144. A piano is not required for registration.

🎵 Second, is the Intro to Piano Summer Camp! This camp, for ages 6 and up, will run for 6 weeks from July 15 to August 19 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Cost for the camp is $192. A piano is not required for registration.

🎹 Both of these interactive summer camps are specially designed to introduce students to the piano, spark their inner musician, and give them a great foundation for a lifelong love of music!

Classes are located in Calgary, AB in the community of Citadel.

On Friday, we have a couple of group workshops to help prepare students for our upcoming recital. We have a blast! Students practice performed their pieces, played games, duets, improvised, and did some listening to Vivaldi and Beethoven! Looking forward to hearing everyone perform at our recital in a few days 😁

Introducing a new program! The Intro to PIano summer camp will be a fun way for kids ages 6 and up to try out piano. In a small group setting students will learn the basics of music and the piano through games and other activities. Students will even be playing a few songs on their own! By the time we are finished the summer camp, each student will have a solid understanding of piano and able to start in more formal lessons to continue their learning.

Camp will be from July 15 to August 19 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Location: Citadel (Calgary, NW)
Cost is $192 for all 6 weeks, all supplies included.
A piano is not required to register for this summer camp.

Colouring is a great time for students to listen to different kind of music! In this lesson the student coloured Herbie Hippo while listening to both Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag.

I’m so excited to finally have received my copy of Weaving Sounds! So many great pieces for the elementary student. Also, the illustrations are so beautiful! I can’t wait to get this book in the hands of my students and start playing some native and indigenous composers

Today we had group lessons! While I forgot to take pictures during all the fun, kids got to practice the pieces for the recital next week, play games, and listening to selections from the Nutcracker. They all did a great job and it was exciting to see them all wanting to go up to the piano to play for their friends! I can’t wait for our next group lesson 😊
