Yesterday was a busy day in the UFV Culinary kitchen as students worked on planning and preparing chicken and brown stocks!

From reviewing recipes and techniques to putting their skills into action, students worked together to create the flavourful foundations used in so many dishes.

We’re excited to welcome our SASET Culinary students to Rivers Café for their very first lunch service! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Join us Thursday & Friday from 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and come see what our students have been busy preparing!

Another busy week in the kitchen for our Culinary students! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

From sharpening their skills in the kitchen to creating some seriously delicious dishes, our students have been hard at work. This week featured comforting homemade soups, fresh-baked cookies and cinnamon buns, colourful stir-fry, pasta dishes and more! 🍲🍪🍝🥢

UFV is offering three specialized welding micro-credentials for the first time, giving you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry welding processes taught at the Trades and Technology Centre in Chilliwack.

✅ Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Stick Welding)
✅ Semi-Automatic Welding Processes (MIG, FCAW & MCAW)
✅ Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG)

Whether you're exploring a career in welding, working in agriculture or maintenance, or looking to expand your fabrication skills, these practical, instructor-led courses are designed to help you build confidence in the shop.

🚨 Have welding experience already? Completed UFV's Welding Essentials course, a high school welding program, workplace training, or another welding course? You may be eligible to register. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll help you determine the best entry point.
