The Briar Patch Child Care Centre

We will have two spaces available in our 3-5 program as of July 1st. These spaces will be full time, for children between 30 months and pre K.

We have baby ducks again this year!! While they didn't nest in the playground, they did nest in the front yard by the creek. Caught them taking their first swim today...so very cute! First year we have had solid black ducklings ❤️

Happy Earth Day everyone!

I want to thank everyone who voted for us! I am truly grateful for all the community support and so happy my staff are getting the recognition they deserve.

To me, a quality childcare centre is not shiny new buildings, special fancy equipment, workbooks or simply observing children at play. It is a centre comprised of caregivers who love what they do, truly enjoy working with children and encourage children to learn through play and exploration. These are caregivers who engage with the children, play with them; while guiding them in their learning and providing age appropriate programming. These are caregivers who are not only fully certified in early childhood education, but who recognize the importance of continuing to learn and grow themselves.

I am so very fortunate to have such a team working with me, and I am fully cognizant of the fact I would not have this honour without them.

Hello Briar Patch friends and families, I just wanted to update you all on the voting that has been going on through the Chilliwack Progress. They will announce the winner in the April 17th edition so be sure to check it out. I will update here as well.

Good morning again everyone, our power came on just at 8. Staff are arriving and will be calling parents to see who still needs care today.

Daycare will open for 9 and OSC at 930 since the school is closed.

If you try to call and can't get through, please be patient.

Good Morning Briar Patch families. As most of you are aware, it has been pretty windy lol. Our power has been out since approximately 10 pm last night and I am not sure when it will come on.

As per our policy, we can not open without power because we will not have heat, lights or the ability to heat up lunches. It will take approximately half an hour after power is restored to get the staff all in and the heat back to where it should be.

I am hopeful our power will be restored soon; however, if it is not restored by 830 this morning, then we will be closed for the day. I will put an update as soon as I have one.
