We were speechless today to learn that after a beautiful performance last night while fighting a fever, studio Kai Yee WON the Intermediate Classical Voice class !!!

This is her first year in the Intermediate category, after winning the Junior Classical Voice class last year.

Kai Yee is a beautiful young singer, with so much musical and artistic sensitivity, who rises to the challenge of her rep every single time. She is curious and funny, and so smart! It is an honour to be her teacher, and I am so deeply proud of everything she has accomplished so far. I can’t wait to see what’s next!! 🤩💕🤩💕

Huge congrats to our first Festival participants of the season! Classical Voice is now complete for these two studio !

Second place for her French Art song
First place for her 20th/21st Century Art Song
First place for her German Lieder

Still to come this season: JRD Voice Studio members are participating in local Festivals all over BC. In addition to Duncan (CMF) and Vancouver (VKMF) singers are getting ready to slay in Terrace (PNMF), Victoria (GVPAF) and Langley (VAYA Live), so stay tuned for that!!

SO thrilled to support studio Kai Yee, Kathy and Michelle as they received their Gold Medals from RCM for achieving the highest grade in their practical exams for voice and speech arts in the British Columbia/Yukon region for 2025 !

These exams are just one of the ways we support student learning in the studio and we’re always thrilled when that hard work is recognized! Congrats to you all!!!

Hey friend? If you’re waiting for the perfect time to take some sessions, I hate to break it to you, but there is no perfect time 😬

The reality is, the act of regularly checking in with an external source (that’s me!) is exponentially more beneficial than no check ins at all-at the very least, you’ll be singing on a bi-weekly/weekly basis 🤷🏼‍♀️.

And if you’re worried that you don’t know how to maximize your singing in between sessions? I can help with that too. Short, concentrated practice can be extremely effective!

Is 2026 the year you (re)discover your voice? I’d love to support you. (We can work on the song in this reel!!)
