With the smoke hanging around Chilliwack, getting outside isn't always an option. So today we're bringing the fun indoors!

Here are a few easy activities to try with your preschooler:

🎨 Create: Set out paper, crayons, stickers, or whatever craft supplies you have on hand.

🧊 Explore: Freeze some small toys in a container and let your child work on "rescuing" them with warm water.

🫧 Sensory play: Make a simple bin with dry pasta, rice, or whatever safe materials you have available.

🏗️ Build: Grab some blocks, LEGO, cardboard boxes, or even couch cushions and see what your little engineer comes up with!

And remember: it doesn't have to be Instagram-worthy. Preschoolers are usually perfectly happy with a bowl of water and a spoon. 😂

If your child turns 3 years old by December 31, 2026, they're eligible to join us for a year of learning through play, building friendships, and gaining confidence in a warm, supportive environment.

🍎 Meet Miss Janice!
Your child's first preschool experience is an important one, and we're so fortunate to have Miss Janice leading our 3's class. She has been part of the Hobby Hill Preschool community since 1988 and holds both her Early Childhood Education Certificate and Special Needs Diploma. She also has additional Speech and Language training and works with children in speech programs here in Chilliwack.

As both a longtime teacher and a former Hobby Hill parent, Miss Janice brings decades of experience, patience, and genuine care to the classroom. She loves creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn through play.

And just like that... our 4's have graduated! 🎓💚

On Friday, we celebrated an incredible group of preschoolers as they wrapped up their time at Hobby Hill and got ready for their next big adventure... Kindergarten!

What a joy it's been to watch their confidence grow, friendships blossom, imaginations soar, and personalities shine. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them.

To our amazing families, thank you for being such a special part of our parent participation community. And to our wonderful teachers, thank you for the love, patience, and encouragement you've poured into these little learners.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We know you'll do amazing things.
