Leap for Joy Outdoor Academy is a forest school located in Chilliwack, where children ages 3–13 learn, explore, play, hike, and grow through outdoor education. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Forest School Support Staff members to join our team.

Position Details
Part-Time: Fridays, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

This position also includes joining our substitute staff list, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts throughout the year as staff take vacation or require coverage (our staff love a good travel opportunity!). As our program grows, there may also be opportunities for extra hours helping on our new farm.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Conducting regular head counts and supporting child safety
* Supervising children ages 3–13
* Playing games and engaging in outdoor play
* Hiking and exploring the forest with groups
* Supporting outdoor and nature-based learning
* Assisting with group activities planned by the lead educator
* Encouraging teamwork, friendship, and positive behaviour
* Helping with clean-up and maintaining outdoor learning spaces
* Supporting hand washing and daily hygiene routines

We're Looking For Someone Who:

* Enjoys working with children
* Loves spending time outdoors in all weather
* Is energetic, patient, and dependable
* Is comfortable hiking and being active throughout the day
* Works well as part of a team
* Has an interest in nature, outdoor education, or child development

Wage

Starting at $20+/hour

Higher wages are available based on relevant qualifications and experience.

You must have:
-A clean criminal record check
-First aid or willingness to acquire First Aid

It was Lake Week at the Outdoor Academy this week!

We decided to ditch sports day this year in favour of swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing and a big potluck lunch.

Safe to say we will be continuing on the tradition in years to come! 🌊
