Happy New Year! As I reflect on 2024 I am grateful for all the amazing folks that I have had the joy of connecting with who have participated in my workshops. When I facilitate workshops I always say “the wisdom is in the room”. Here’s one of the many Post It notes from a participant that reflects that wisdom from one of my Growing Leaders workshop I offered in 2024. I’ve had this at my desk since then. You all inspired me.

I am excited to share a new workshop that my partner Karla Joseph and I created called Walking Together: Meaningful Engagement in the Journey of Truth and Reconciliation. This is a six-hour workshop that offers child providers and other community-facing professionals the opportunity to further their knowledge of Canada’s colonial history and the implications that are continuing to impact Indigenous peoples today. As you know, many Canadians are feeling unsure of how to be part of the journey of Truth and Reconciliation, especially in light of the rediscoveries of so many children who attended Indian Residential Schools. This workshop balances learning history and supporting participants in building skills for their own journey of becoming an ally. Karla and I recently had the pleasure of presenting our workshops virtually at the Children’s Heart of the Matter Conference. The general feedback that we received was that participants appreciated the respectful, honest conversations that we facilitated where they were safe to be vulnerable to learn and to grow. We look forward to the opportunity to facilitate this workshop again, whether virtual or in person, in one weekend day or two evening sessions. Please see the attached poster for Walking Together: Meaningful Engagement in the Journey of Truth and Reconciliation.

I have been a little quite recently as I have been in student mode. I recently started my Masters in Leadership with a Health specialty. But I have big news!
I am very honoured to be co-facilitating two workshops with my friend and colleague Karla Joseph at the Children’s Heart of the Matter Conference in February. Together we have designed workshops to further the dialogue and inspire action for truth and reconciliation. We are looking forward to this opportunity.
You can register at the link below, space is limited.

Online Workshop - Tinkers and Thinkers: Igniting Innovation - Child Care Options
98% of kindergarten children are at a genius level of divergent thinking which is an aspect of creativity which allows us to see many solutions to a given problem. Over time, as we grow up, we lose this ability because we are often taught that there is only one right solution to a problem. This […...
