My website finally got the facelift it's needed for years this week! It's new 'face' is nothing fancy, but I'll take updated, easy to navigate any day! My favorite part? A 'shop' feature for my honeybee-inspired resources!!! Still, there's something missing: book reviews. Do you own, or have you read one of my literary resources? "Circlebee", "Beekeeping Basics" or "Bee the Light"? Have you been at a workshop where one of my books have been a resources included? Can you share what resonated with you, what you found useful, insightful, delightful... I look forward to reading what nectar you have to share...

**HONEY SALES 2025***
Itโs that time of year again! Jars of honey are NOW ready to go, in 750 ml and 500ml Jars. From hive to plate โ as local, raw, organic as it gets!
If you're new to our amazing honey, here's why itโs the โbeeโs kneesโ: The honey we sell comes straight from nature's nectar. We do not feed our bees sugar syrup (as some beekeepers do), during the honey-making season. We are bee-centered beekeepers, that is, we put the beeโs needs first, never taking more than what they need to thrive (and other bee-friendly practices). How our honey is processed: The honey comes straight from honey frame to jar: the frame is meticulously uncapped using a manual uncapping knife, then the frames are put into a hand-cranked 3-frame extractor, spun for ~3 minutes each side, poured through a sieve into a food grade container, then into jars. Simplicity at best.
Pricing for artisan (farm gate) honey in the Fraser Valley is $12-$15/lb. However, we sell jars by ML (volume, not weight), so it may confuse some. But here it goes:
750 ml jars (are ~2.21 lbs).
500 ml jars (are~ 1lb, 7 ounces).
250 ml jars (are ~ .77 lbs).
Our prices are the nearly the same as last year ($1 increase per jar), and reflect $12/lb. OUR HONEY HARVEST PRICING IS:
750 ml Jars = $28
500 ml Jars = $19
This is a floral variety, meaning no specific crop, but a variety of wildflower forage. One can definitely taste the โberry nectarโ in there! YUM!
LIMITED AMOUNT of jars available! PM me to grab yours!

I had some amazing helpers this year extracting honey. I just can't get the song, " Everything is Sticky" out of my head to the Lego Movie song, "Everything is awesome"... ๐คฃ

๐ Signs of a failing honeybee hive include: spotty brood patterns, uneven or perforated capped brood, deformed bees, 'greasy bees', fluid-filled larvae, black or dead bee mummies on the bottom board, a foul smell coming out of the hive, bees appearing weak & lethargic....
In the human hive...the true sign of a failing 'community', or any relationship for that matter, is when individuals no longer listen to each other.
No matter the outcome of today's election in Canada - if we fail to listen to each other (including those with political opinions & values different from our own), Nobody Wins!
Sadly, the divisiveness, hate-shaming, cancelation-culture-fueled posts & comments one can witness across social media these days in respect to one's political platform or stance - show we've been failing each other for quite some time. And yet, we can confidently assume that everyone wants a 'better' today and tomorrow - and that this fuels everyone's vote. Remember this when you come across someone with a different take on what 'better' means to them. And let's see if we can come from a more 'community' way of being - at a time such as this.

The spring honeyflow is officially here! If you see all those dandelions popping up, you'll be seeing "happy" honeybees also. So leave those dandies alone and let the bees go at it - as they really do need to restock their 'stores'. Mine have been pretty grumpy actually waiting for the endless rain to subside...Finally going to have some descent weather this week for the bees. Fingers crossed that means less grumpy bees too. ๐๐ฅฐ
Dandelions out also means SWARM season is officially here. So if you see a giant mass of honeybees hanging from a tree branch or other structure...give me a call and I'll come rehome them (or if not in my area, call your local bee club). ๐
PIC Snapshot of the first honeybee I caught on a dandelion this year (not best photo though, she was super speedy ๐).
