All About “K” Event

This event is open to all families who have children entering Kindergarten for September 2025 in the Chilliwack School District. Although we are hosting the events at Central & Unsworth Elementary, your child can be registered at any Chilliwack Elementary School.

Please join us at one of our 2 events happening at Central Elementary and Unsworth Elementary. Join us for snacks, crafts, activities, help with K registration and a time to ask general questions about Kindergarten. All About K – sign up here.


Central Elementary: Tuesday December 17th 12:00pm-1:30pm
Unsworth Elementary: Wednesday December 18th 9:00am-10:30am

If you are not registered for Kindergarten yet, we can help! Please bring the following items with you:

a valid email address
photo or scan showing proof of child's age and citizenship (birth certificate, passport...)
photo or scan showing proof of residency (utility bill with your name...)
photo or scan showing parent's proof of citizenship (I.D., passport...)
immigration and employment information if a temporary resident in BC

*Younger siblings are welcome to join, please note that guardians are required to supervise their children at this event.

Please make sure to send your books or orders in tomorrow for the coupon books. We are now at the end of the fundraiser and all books are due back tomorrow if not purchasing.

Tomorrow is the last day of our fundraiser if your not selling any more books please be sure to send your money tomorrow and if you need to order any more books let us know by Monday

Tuesday September 3rd : Grade 1-5 students are in attendance from 8:30- 10:30 am. Students are to return to last years classes and will be dismissed from last years classes. New students can go to the library.

September 4th: Full (all) day attendance for Grade 1-5 students: 8:24am – 2:22 pm. (First bell is at 8:19 am).

Grade 1-5 Student’s will meet before school outside in grade groups and grade group teachers will bring students into the school for attendance and division into tentative classes.

Grade 1-Primary Playground -Mrs. Rideout and Grade 1 Team
Grade 2-Outdoor Basketball Court -East Mr. Ball and Grade 2 Team
Grade 3-NW Entry Doors by path/container -Mrs. Smyth & Grade 3 Team
Grade 4- Hockey Court -Mrs. Cross and Grade 4 Team
Grade 5- Outdoor Basketball Court-West Mr. Neely and Grade 5 Team

September 5th/6th
Students meet their teachers at the grade group meeting location.

‼️‼️We have attached a photo of the parking lot for reference. Please park in assigned visitor parking. For more parking, please park at the end of one of the three pathways that enter Strathcona and walk in. For school drop off, please be sure to only let your child off in the drop off zone in front of the school and ensure everyone is utilizing crosswalks. Also, please do not park in bike lanes or close to crosswalks! ‼️‼️

Movie night is tonight. Bring the entire family and enjoy watching Sonic. Doors open at 6pm. See you all there.

Home Alone Course
For youth 10 and up or turning 10 this school year.
Designed to provide responsible children with the necessary skills to be safe when left alone for short periods of time.
Interactive course covers:
How to: Prevent Common Problems
Handle Real Life Situations
Keep them Safe and Constructively Occupied
Minor First Aid and More
Certificate Upon Completion
Cost is $45.00 per Student
Course Date: March 1st from 11:45am to 3:15pm (Strathcona Early Dismissal Day)
We have a minimum requirement of 6 students and a maximum of 20.
Students are required to bring a lunch and snacks.
