Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two officers and an offender in a tragic accident during a transfer from Edmonton Institution for Women. We extend our deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
Our colleagues who lost their lives in the line of duty served Canadians with professionalism, dedication, and courage. Their commitment to public safety and to CSC's mission leaves a lasting legacy, and we will ensure their invaluable contributions to our country are never forgotten.

With all the brouhaha over the current Canadian government’s use of British English, I am proud to say since my writing journey began in 2015, I have used British English throughout my four books. Further, I have strived to use Canadianisms throughout my books, representing the Canadian way of life. Long before this so called trade war with the US, I have used Canadians to edit, design and publish my books. With book 3 and book 4, I am pleased to have used a Chilliwack, family business for publishing.
So, from toques to toonies, from pop, not soda, to the famous double double, Serving Life 25 series of books are all Canadian.
Not bad eh?

It's hard to believe Kent Institution was first opened 47 years ago today. Touted as the “Vanguard of change” Kent has seen its fair share of murders, riots, helicopter escape and two box escapes.
Bob Swan from Mission Institution received the first badge, marking the beginnings of the Correctional Service of Canada.
