A cake stand doesn’t have to hold cake. For this fall centerpiece, I used a Jadeite cake stand to elevate a glass pumpkin filled with caramels, then added dried hydrangeas, feathers, candles and warm brown pottery.

The autumn colours soften the Jadeite without hiding it-and the caramels make the centerpiece useful, too. Proof that seasonal decorating doesn’t require buying a bin full of new décor. Sometimes it just takes using what you already have differently.

This thrifted Sylvac vase may be one of my favourite fall finds yet. Its warm orangey glaze was made for autumn, especially filled with burgundy, rust and cream flowers.

I placed it on a large Jadeite platter and added Jadeite candlesticks on either side. The platter gives the substantial vase a proper foundation, while the repeated burgundy and cream carry the flower colours throughout the centerpiece.

A good reminder not to overlook an unusual thrifted vase-the right colour and shape can become the starting point for an entire seasonal table.

One of my favorite ways to move Jadeite into fall is to mix it with thrifted seasonal pieces.

I found this turkey platter and matching plates secondhand, and they instantly gave the Jadeite a completely different look. The red transferware, plaid, wicker and brass cutlery warm everything up without taking the attention away from the green.

That’s one of the reasons I love thrifting for seasonal decor: you don’t need an entire matching set. A platter, a few plates, or even one great serving piece can be enough to give pieces you already own a whole new season.

A few fresh flowers, some jadeite, and a cup of tea. Not a bad way to use up the last of the summer blooms.

Peaches, fresh flowers, thrifted linens, and Jadeite - basically, the perfect combination.

I love pulling together a table with pieces that feel collected rather than perfectly matched, and these soft peach tones ended up being such a pretty partner for the Jadeite.

Sometimes the simplest seasonal touches are enough to make an everyday table feel special.

Somehow the basket comes home full.

Everything here was thrifted except the Jadeite. Some brass, pretty linens and a couple of pieces I absolutely did not know I needed until I found them.

Honestly, half the fun of thrifting is finding things that were never on the list in the first place.

One of my favorite things about thrifting is putting together little collections that feel like they were always meant to be together.

This coastal entertaining collection came together one treasure at a time.

A vintage Poole silver-plated shell bowl that immediately made me think of summer gatherings.

Pottery Barn shell cocktail napkins that add just the right coastal touch.

Marble-handled cheese utensils that are both beautiful and practical for entertaining.

🌊 A set of Jamie Oliver ceramic cheese markers, because every cheese board deserves a little personality.

And of course…Jadeite is the piece that ties everything together.

The best part is that you don’t need to find these exact pieces. If you collect Pyrex, milk glass, uranium glass, ironstone, or another favorite vintage pattern, the same idea works beautifully. Start with one special vintage piece, add a few practical entertaining accessories, and you’ve created a collection that’s both useful and beautiful.

Sometimes the most memorable “gift baskets” aren’t baskets at all - they’re simply thoughtfully gathered treasures.
