I spent a glorious sunny March afternoon tangling and contemplating about the many truly wonderful women that I am blessed to have in my life.
We can become complacent about our life here in Canada. Thank you to Linda Garland for introducing me to the book 'A Veiled Threat' about the status of women in Afghanistan. As the government of that country seeks to come to an agreement with the Taliban in order to grasp for peace, (at what cost to its women?), I am reminded that International Women's Day is so important on so many levels on this beloved planet.
My mind stills boggles at the fact that when my mother was born, she was not a person under the law in Canada.
So here is my tribute, a joyous, dancing woman with her feet grounded on the earth as she swirls in wondrous energy.
