With the honey harvest nearly in, it's time to think about winter prep and that starts with healthy bees. We can feed, wrap and ventilate and still colonies die out and this is often because the winter bees are carrying a range of pests and diseases. The temp is well above freezing so we took the opportunity to top up the hives with some fondant. It never a bad thing to top up there food stores even if there not empty.
