Hello Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you and your families all well and surviving these crazy times.
I just watched this video of Father Peter on his own in the gym, which should have been full of people at the Gala. It's just so sad....

Please consider going online and making a donation to support this great school since they won't have the usual gala income this year!

Here is a direct link to the 'Raise the Paddle' link: https://ssl.charityweb.net/saintanselms/paddle.htm

If the Gala link has closed, you can donate to the school any time (any amount, no matter how small) via the button on this page (FB do not charge fees for this service) or by going directly to the school's website under the Support tab.

Thanks for considering this request and do keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. I miss seeing you guys!

Doesn't if feel like it must be time for another get together of the parents of the class of 2014? Anyone game to host it sometime in the next couple of months?

I think the potluck option at someone's house has worked well so the host doesn't get stuck with providing everything and it's a bit more relaxed - not to mention less expensive - than a restaurant, but if folks prefer to go out somewhere, please suggest a bar or restaurant that might work!

Sad news. In case you hadn't heard:

Dear Students, Parents, and Faculty:

It is with great sadness that I write to share the news that our longtime faculty member Mrs. Hajnalka Enzel passed away last night at her home after an extended illness.

Last week, Mr. Crittenberger shared with you the news that Mrs. Enzel was gravely ill and would be unable to return to return to school this year, which would have been her 14th at St. Anselm’s Abbey School. Since that time, we have received an outpouring of messages of support and well wishes, many of which were passed on to Mrs. Enzel and her family. During her time at the Abbey School, Mrs. Enzel served in many capacities, including as a highly successful Spanish teacher; the chair of our Modern Language Department; the award-winning coach of our It’s Academic team; a faithful Kairos retreat team member; a regular face at daily Mass in our Abbey Church; and a friend and mentor to countless students and fellow faculty members. She is greatly missed.

Funeral and memorial arrangements for Mrs. Enzel are still being finalized. We do hope to have a memorial Mass here at St. Anselm’s in the near future. We will convey the details of these arrangements as soon as they are available.

Fr. Michael will be sharing the news of Mrs. Enzel’s passing with the student body at an assembly this afternoon. I ask that you join us in praying for Mrs. Enzel and her family during this time.

Fr. Peter Weigand, OSB
President
