The ideas for the dolls usually come to me either through meditation or a dream. They all begin with a fallen branch from a tree, and then are adorned with objects from nature, various fabrics from around the world, unique hand woven yarns, beautiful beads, leather scraps, recycled jewellery, feathers, shells and so on. Each clay face is handmade in Texas and seem to carry their own personality an
d charm.
🌸 As I begin to create the dolls, I enter into a conscious, yet meditative state and just ‘listen’ for a little suggestions to pop into my head of what to do next. I feel guided as the colors, fabrics, crystals, etc. There are many times when the dolls ‘ask’ for something special to be added, which sends me out on a wild treasure hunt shopping adventure!
🌸 Many hours go into the creation of each Doll. I keep some notes on the messages as they come to share what the doll represents, and the energy she carries. When I feel that they are complete, I hold them in my hands and again do a meditation asking what they would like to be called.
🌸 That’s pretty much how the process goes, when all goes smoothly. 😉 They never seem to be what I think they will be when I first stage the materials. Often I am doing something for the first time, and find myself asking spirit for guidance on how to do it.
🌸 Each and every doll is made with the sincere intentions of love and compassion. Many other intentions come to mind and heart as they develop. Once complete, I remove my energy by cleansing them with a whaft of sage as they await their new owners to invite them into their homes and hearts.
