You DON’T need to attend CVDCS to order because orders go right to your house so feel free to share! The benefit of ordering with our school name is that you will get access to school specials that are not available to the public.

We did it, Flyers! Thank you for an amazing first day back. It was incredible to see and hear our students back in classrooms and hallways today! Thank you families for your ongoing flexibility and patience as we ensure class groupings are made to provide adequate support and also as we all learn Edsby as our new communication and attendance system! Here’s to an amazing year! 🍎

Our pizza days will be in blocks again this year, starting in October. For the month of September will be having 2 single purchases.

Our subs will be single purchase for the 2 weeks in September as well and then will continue monthly as usual.

🍁 Why do we celebrate Labour Day? 🍁

Labour Day is a Canadian holiday that celebrates the hard work of people across our country! 👷‍♀️👨‍🏫👩‍⚕️👨‍🔧

It also reminds us of the importance of fair working conditions, safe workplaces, reasonable hours, and the rights of workers.

Today, we celebrate and thank all the people who help make our communities strong every day. ❤️

Happy Labour Day! 🇨🇦 Take a look below at some of the labour achievements in Canada.

🕐 The 8-hour workday — Workers fought for reasonable working hours instead of working extremely long days.

🌴 Paid vacation time — Workers gained the right to take time off while still being paid.

👶 Parental leave — Canadian workers gained protected time away from work after having or adopting a child.

🦺 Safer workplaces — Labour movements helped push for laws and standards that protect workers from unsafe working conditions.

💰 Minimum wage — Laws were introduced to ensure workers receive at least a basic level of pay.

🤝 The right to unionize and bargain collectively — Workers gained greater ability to join together and negotiate for better wages and working conditions.

🏠 Workers’ compensation — Systems were established to provide support to workers injured or made ill because of their jobs.
