Adult Language and Learning Celebrated their annual Newcomers Picnic on Saturday July 11th. The staff worked hard to make this event a huge success. It was great to see everyone. We hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer.

Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) held a Healthy Hands, Strong Minds summer activity! It was filled with creativity, connection, and fun! Families came together to paint, express themselves, and enjoy quality time. It was wonderful to see everyone creating colourful masterpieces while building stronger connections and supporting their well-being. Thank you to the families who joined us- we can’t wait for the next SWIS summer activity!

⚠ Heat Warning Issued for Chatham-Kent ⚠

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning beginning tomorrow, Monday, July 13, 2026 through to the evening of Wednesday July 15 or Thursday July 16, 2026.

Maximum temperatures between 30 to 36 degrees Celsius are expected, while minimum temperatures will be between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius. Humidex values will be between 38 and 45. Tuesday July 14 will mark the peak of this event with temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius.

Individuals lacking shelter, water, or food are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of extreme heat. Anyone experiencing homelessness should call the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 (24/7) for support.
