Every class is special, but today was X-tra special.

We had the Project X-Guard team down at the Academy to get some training in and pick up a donation in support of the work they are doing in our martial arts community.

We believe strongly in their mission to make Brazilian Jiu Jitsu accessible to at-risk and underprivileged youth, using martial arts as a tool to build confidence, discipline, resilience and a stronger future.

Thank you to the Project X-Guard team for coming down to train with us and for the work you continue to do.

We still have boxes out if anyone is interested in donating their used gi/shorts/rashguards/belts.

From August 27–31, members of GFTeam will be coming together in Halifax for the GFTeam Annual. With several of our instructors away, we’ve made some adjustments to the Academy schedule:

• 11:00 AM–12:00 PM — NoGi with Professor Rain

SUPPLEMENT KING CHATHAM × ARMSTRONG ACADEMY

We’re excited to team up with Supplement King Chatham for a special night at the Academy!

Supplement King Chatham will be setting up inside the Academy during class with samples and gifts available for up to 20 members who attend.

Drop-ins are welcome! Armstrong Academy members will receive priority for the 20 available spots.

We’ve been a little behind on sharing them, but the promotions haven’t stopped!

LINEAGE MATTERS.

In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, lineage represents more than where techniques came from. It represents the generations of instructors, competitors and leaders who helped shape the art and ultimately the way we train today.

As we prepare our new academy, we are excited to give our lineage a permanent place on the wall. From Jigoro Kano and Carlos Gracie, through Julio Cesar and GFTeam and down through the professors who directly shaped our team, each person displayed represents an important part of the path that led to Armstrong Academy.

For our students, it is a reminder that when they step onto the mats, they are becoming part of something much bigger than one academy.

We are proud of where we come from and excited to have our lineage represented in our new home.
