Different seasons bring different challenges.

Busy periods.
Life transitions.
Changing routines.

Checking in with yourself throughout the year can help you notice what you need before stress builds.

If you feel like you could use some extra support, you don’t have to navigate it alone. 💙

Today, we’re celebrating another year of Your Life Design Inc. 💙

What began with a vision to create a space where people could feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood has continued to grow into a community we are incredibly grateful for.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families through moments of change, healing, growth, and discovery. We’ve welcomed wonderful therapists and team members, built meaningful connections, and continued learning and growing together.

But YLD would not be what it is without the people who have trusted us to be part of their journey.

To our clients, therapists, team members, community partners, and everyone who has supported YLD along the way, thank you.

Thank you for your trust.
Thank you for your support.
Thank you for being part of our community.

As we celebrate another year, we’re grateful for how far we’ve come and look forward to continuing to create spaces rooted in compassion, connection, and care.

Here’s to another year of growing together. 💙

Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to listen, learn, remember, and reflect.

We honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who continue to live with the impacts of the residential school system.

Reconciliation requires more than recognition on one day. It asks us to continue learning about the truths of our shared history, listening to Indigenous voices and experiences, and considering how each of us can contribute to respectful and meaningful change.

At Your Life Design, we recognize that healing, truth, and reconciliation are ongoing.

Today, we make space for remembrance, reflection, and continued learning. 🧡

If anxiety is rising, pause here for a moment.

Slow breath.
Relax your shoulders.
Feel your feet on the ground.

You are safe right now.

One breath at a time.

As the week comes to a close, take a moment to acknowledge everything you've carried.

Not every victory is visible. Sometimes simply getting through the week is enough.

May this weekend bring you moments of rest, joy, connection, and the space to simply be.

Be gentle with yourself. 💙

Many people learn to manage everything on their own.

They become the strong one, the problem-solver, the one others rely on.

But over time, carrying everything alone can become exhausting.

You don’t have to keep doing it alone.

If you would like a safe space to talk, we are here to listen.

Meet Tanya Thompson, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Prince Edward Island, Canada

You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear plan before starting counselling.

Sometimes you simply know that something isn’t working anymore, life feels too heavy, or you don’t quite feel like yourself.

Tanya works with young adults, adults, students, professionals, and neurodivergent individuals navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, difficult life transitions, and emotional overwhelm.

With a background in community-based support and addictions studies, Tanya also has a particular interest in supporting people affected by mental health and addictions concerns, trauma, homelessness, intellectual disabilities, and other challenging life circumstances.

Her experience has shaped her belief that our struggles rarely exist in isolation. Mental health, relationships, work, housing, identity, and life circumstances can all affect one another. Tanya takes time to understand the whole person rather than defining someone by a diagnosis or one difficult chapter of their life.

Her counselling style is client-centred, strengths-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Depending on what you need, sessions might involve developing practical coping strategies, strengthening boundaries and relationships, building confidence, or simply having space to make sense of what you’re experiencing.

Tanya draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centred Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring her approach to each person’s needs and goals.

Tanya is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.

Meet Abby MacLeod, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Prince Edward Island, Canada

Feeling overwhelmed, burned out, uncertain, or a little stuck about what comes next? You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Abby works with students, young adults, adults, and caregivers who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low confidence, or challenging life transitions.

She also has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including people with ADHD and intellectual disability (ID), as well as those navigating disability-related challenges, career or employment concerns, or the emotional impact of feeling misunderstood or unsure of their next step.

Abby’s professional background includes supporting adults with career planning, developmental and dual disabilities, employment readiness, and finding work that reflects their individual needs, abilities, and goals. This experience has shaped her understanding of how closely our work, relationships, confidence, and emotional wellbeing can be connected.

Growing up in a family of fishermen and women in a small rural PEI community has also shaped Abby’s appreciation for connection, compassion, and the importance of feeling truly heard.

Her counselling approach is person-centred, collaborative, and strengths-based. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Person-Centred Therapy, Abby works alongside clients to better understand themselves, build confidence, manage difficult emotions, and find a path forward that feels meaningful to them.

Abby is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.

Meet Karina Terentiev, Intern Therapist at Your Life Design Inc.

📍 Prince Edward Island, Canada
🌎 Languages: English and Russian

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out for support.

Karina works with adolescents, young adults, adults, students, veterans, and couples who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or major life transitions.

She has a particular interest in supporting people carrying pressure from school, work, relationships, family, or home life, especially when it feels difficult to slow down, reconnect with yourself, or know what you need.

Karina’s interest in mental health grew during her three years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. Originally from Ukraine and now living in Prince Edward Island, she also brings an understanding of how culture, language, identity, and belonging can shape our experiences. Karina offers counselling in both English and Russian.

Her approach is calm, curious, collaborative, and strengths-based. She believes clients should have an active voice in their counselling, with sessions shaped around their individual goals, values, experiences, culture, and preferences.

Drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, Karina works with clients to understand patterns, build practical coping skills, strengthen boundaries, and make changes that feel realistic and meaningful. When working with couples, she supports open communication, greater understanding, and healthier ways of responding to one another.

Karina is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is part of Your Life Design Inc.’s Graduate Practicum Internship Program. Through the program, she offers FREE therapy under clinical supervision.
