🥋 What a Great East Coast Ryusei Karate Clinic!

We had a fantastic weekend of training with Sensei Peter Giffen for our Ryusei Karate clinic!

The weekend kicked off Friday evening at our dojo in North Rustico, where we began by reviewing several Ryusei kata that have similarities to Chito-Ryu kata. These kata all share a connection to our roots and ultimately trace back to O’Sensei, giving us a wonderful opportunity to explore the history, techniques, and principles behind our karate.

It was especially great to have members join us from Cheticamp Karate Club and Atlantic Karate Club. Bringing different dojos and karateka together made the weekend even more special and gave everyone a chance to train, learn, and share their passion for karate.

Sensei Giffen is the Technical Director for Ryusei Karate-Do Canada and has travelled to Japan several times and studied directly under Master Tsuyoshi Chitose, the founder of Chito-Ryu Karate and Sensei Ken Sakamoto, the founder of the Kumamoto, Japan-based organization and the chief instructor of Ryusei Karate-Do.

Huge THANK YOU to every that supported our Desk Goose fundraiser!

As a pay it forward, we have donated this lovely duo to Garden Home to brighten the day of the residents❤️

We started them off with an outfit each(didn’t want to deliver naked geese 🤣)

If anyone wanted to pop on amazon ( yes, it’s a thing) and buy them a few outfits(7 inch desk goose ones )or make some and drop off for them, I’m sure they’d love to have a wardrobe to change them up..

We do have a few more left to sell if anyone is interested.

We want to give a special shout-out to all of the students who advanced to a new belt or stripe level at our year-end grading! 👏🥋

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you for the dedication, perseverance, and hard work you put in to reach your next level.

While earning belts and stripes is a wonderful achievement, what makes us the proudest is watching our students grow in confidence, develop strong character, and learn the value of setting goals and working hard to achieve them.

These accomplishments don't happen overnight…they are earned through commitment, determination, and a positive attitude.

Keep up the amazing work, and remember that every step forward is something to celebrate!
