We at CCCE are very excited to have Melody Dover, Founder and Brand Builder of Fresh Media, as a guest speaker on Thursday, September 26 at 12:00 - 1:00PM. As one of the creators of PEI Burger Love, Melody will recount some of the adventurous tales of building this iconic Island brand, plus key takeaways you can apply to your own business path.

Melody Dover is founder and lead brand builder behind Fresh Media, a multi-award-winning creative agency specializing in unique brand positioning and original ideas.

Starting Fresh Media from her basement apartment with no start-up support, three client leads and a second-hand computer was humble beginnings for a company that is still going strong today.

Over the past 21 years Melody and her team have proudly helped numerous startups, small businesses, organizations, not-for-profits locally, regionally and internationally. She is also one of the creators of the annual PEI Burger Love campaign which has had an unprecedented economic impact of over $14 million since launching in 2011 and raised over $440,000 for two local not-for-profits.

Grab some popcorn and get ready for an exciting competition where players will be pitted against one another in Playing Lean, a game which has players of rival startups learning about their customers, developing their products to meet the customer's needs, and trying to complete sales before their competitors!

It was a pleasure to sit down with Matt Jelley, recent graduate from UPEI, to hear more about how his time in programs like the Young Millionaires Program and being a student at UPEI shaped his approach to starting and running his company, Mobile Bicycle Services.

Matt expressed that his time in BUS 3710: Entrepreneurship and New Ventures and the influence of its instructor, Dr. Reuben Domike, were major influencers in helping and pushing Matt to start his business. Matt also expressed that receiving prize money in the 2022/23 MacLauchlan Panther Pitch helped jumpstart his business to open sooner than originally planned.

Shelley Montreuil, Co-founder & CEO of trippl, brings over 15 years of Travel Tech Management, Project Management & Communications expertise to the table. As a working musician who has toured Eastern Canada extensively, she has earned her band manager/road warrior status, and she has more than a few tricks up her sleeve for thriving in that kind of lifestyle.

She was leading a remote tech team before it was cool, which has allowed her to live and work in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, Ottawa, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Iqaluit, Nunavut. Shelley has worked as a Capital Campaign Fundraiser, Musician / Band Manager and a Web Developer. The common thread among these disparate roles is that she is an experienced entrepreneur who knows how to bring enthusiastic partners to the table and successfully execute a vision. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Agile Professional (SSGI-CAP).
