This past June, your Vice‑President Student Life, Zare, attended the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities (COCA) conference in Regina. 👑
Throughout the week, she joined keynote sessions, participated in roundtables, and watched presentations from sponsors to determine which opportunities would be the best fit to bring back to UPEI.
One message that truly resonated with her was the importance of fostering a strong sense of community on campus and ensuring students know they are never alone. ❤️
She also connected with other student‑life leaders from across the country, building a network she can reach out to for ideas, advice, and collaboration.
Zare is excited to put everything she learned into action and create the best possible experience for UPEI students!

On Friday, July 24, your UPEI Student Union executives met with Member of Parliament Sean Casey for their introductory lunch and had a truly fruitful discussion.
They highlighted our strategic priorities, shared possible goals for the upcoming year, and discussed how they plan to best serve UPEI students.
We are deeply grateful to MP Casey for his continued support over the years, and we look forward to our official advocacy meeting with him later in the school year.

The UPEI Student Union invites all students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members to walk with us in the Pride Parade this Saturday, July 25. Please meet us at 9:30 a.m. by locating the UPEI vehicle in the parking lot off Terry Fox Drive behind the Government buildings. The parade will begin at 10 a.m sharp.
We will have free stickers to give out, so come join us, show your support, and help celebrate that nothing is stronger than love.
We cannot wait to see as many of you as possible.

Did you know that, as a full-time UPEI student, you contribute $5 to the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA)?
CASA is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization that brings together student associations from across Canada to advocate directly to the federal government for a more accessible, affordable and high-quality post-secondary education system.
Recently, at a CASA conference, your Vice-President External, Alissa, and President, Amy, asked fellow student executives why CASA matters to them.
Through CASA, your elected representatives gain access to research, policy development, advocacy training and opportunities to meet with federal decision-makers. These tools and resources help them advocate more effectively for UPEI students.
CASA’s advocacy has contributed to important wins for students, including but not limited to:
-The extension of increased Canada Student Grant and Loan maximums
-Investments in Canada Summer Jobs and work-integrated learning opportunities
-$500 million in federal youth mental-health funding
-Increased funding for graduate students and Indigenous student financial assistance
-The elimination of interest on federal student loans
Your $5 helps connect UPEI students to a stronger national voice and supports advocacy that can lead to meaningful change for students across Canada.
