Message from administration about back to school:

Good Morning Parents & Guardians,

Our staff are looking forward to another great year at Birchwood Intermediate. Our grade 7 students will start on Thursday, September 7th. We will gather in our cafeteria and get organized into homerooms. Students will spend time with their homeroom teacher getting organized, trying out combination locks, doing a tour of the school, and getting to know one another. On Friday, September 8th, our grade 8 and 9 students will join us, Grade 8s will meet in the cafeteria and grade 9s will meet in the gymnasium.

Great news to share. We have partnered with Generation Fresh to run our cafeteria service this year. There will be healthy offerings for students at a great price. Please see the letter attached from David Mitchell. There will be a reloadable cards sent home with each student this week, or students can also use debit or cash in the cafeteria. The cafeteria will be serving food starting on Thursday, September 7th. Grade 7 students will not have off-ground privileges until later in the fall.

Basic school supplies have been provided again this year. Some items that are not provided include calculators, geometry sets, headphones, indoor sneakers for phys ed, change of clothes for phys ed, water bottle, lunch bag, backpack.

Every Sunday, I will send home an email about things on the horizon for the week. As a parent myself, I always appreciated knowing what was happening at school. I am a strong believer in open communication. Please reach out to me at any time via email ([email protected]) or 902-368-6870.

Students are encouraged to bring the following: sun screen, hat, water bottle, warm clothes, proper footwear and a lunch.

On May 6th Birchwood staff are hosting a Fun Run/Walk in support of school programs and students

Registration is just $20 until May 5th, $25 May 5th at kit pickup and $30 for day of registration.
