Today, October 10, is World Mental Health Day. 💙

The worry of not knowing what to say often holds people back from reaching out to a coworker who doesn't seem to be themselves. But research shows that listening is really all you need to do to make a difference.

Healthy workplaces support employee mental health, and contribute to the mental health of customers, clients and partners.

Celebrating five years with Dawn! Dawn's our Learning Coach in the WESS Program in Lennox Island.

She wasn't keeping track of her time, but we were, and that made it super easy to surprise her at our team meeting last week!

Thanks to Jane & Sue Chocolate for sweetening things up!

Happy WLPEI anniversary Dawn! ❤️

Happy Treaty Day!

Today, we officially commemorate the Treaties of Peace and Friendship signed between the Mi'kmaq people and the British Crown, signed between 1725 and 1761.

Have you ever noticed that land acknowledgements include the phrase "the unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people." Under the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, there was no land transfer agreement. Those treaties are still legal documents today.

PEI is Mi'kmaq Territory, and we are all Treaty People.

For more information on your role as a Treaty Person, visit https://lnuey.ca/c/treaty-day/, and check out all the celebrations going on today!

Today is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

We'll be at the Shaw Building in Charlottetown for the ceremony starting at 11:30, and we encourage you to attend too!

From L'nuey: September 30 recognizes the colonial legacy of residential schools and honours the survivors and children who never returned home, as well as their families and communities.

Let's listen, learn, and build stronger communities together.

For more information on reconciliation activities across Epekwitk, visit lnuey.ca.

It's Skills for Success Day in Canada!📣

The Skills for Success are critical to effective functioning of modern workplaces! We think of literacy and school going together, and too often, we forget that ongoing training and professional development helps adults perform better at work too.

Happy Skills for Success Day!
