Why are these not sold next to wrapping paper everywhere? Ive never had one.
I got mine in the checkout line at Michael's and did a test cut and it slides like butter.
Gift wrapping leveled up. Much faster, clean cut.
And the cheap red bag in the background? Life-changing bag from Dollarama that holds wrapping paper with a pouch for labels plus two smaller pouches that can hold tape and scissors.
I no longer have to find my wrapping supplies. They are always ready to go.

The truth about cleaning and organizing with ADHD (and suspected Autism) is that it's so hard to make visible progress when I start to find myself mid-task in different areas all over the house.
You may know the drill - you're cleaning a room and find dirty clothes so you run them to the washer but there are already clothes in the washer. You open the dryer but there are clothes in there too. You look for a laundry basket but they are also full so you start emptying one of the baskets by putting away some clothes but find some outgrown or worn items and find yourself checking sizes and decluttering and soon 3 hours have passed and you've barely done 40% of any one of those tasks. And the room you started in? Almost untouched.
It can happen with any task I do - my home is full of silent to do lists in every room. Dishes whispering "do me", spiderwebs in the corner mocking me, tripping over a clutter pile for 6 months that only takes 5 minutes to deal with.
That's just some of the truth about cleaning and organizing as a busy single mom with ADHD.
And many clients I work with have similar struggles.
One of the best parts about hiring a professional organizer is the ACCOUNTABILITY of following through when a 2nd person is involved. It turns the "someday" into next Tuesday. It turns a few hours of bumbling around to a few hours of streamlined & focused work.
I wont do your dishes or clean your toilet but reach out if you want to tackle a messy closet, bedroom, garage or any part of your home that isnt working for you.

Been looking for some clarity and inspiration.
And a color scheme.
Suddenly, it was all in front of me.
Anyone else chasing clarity on something lately? Anyone even here anymore?

Sometimes dressing for how you want to feel can work wonders. ββββββββββββββββββOne day last week I showered and got ready for the day as if I had somewhere fancy to be, with makeup and a little black dress.
It helped boost my mood quite a bit.
Now I want a real reason to dress up and go out in my little black dress.

I wish I knew then what I know now but these handled bins from the Dollarama are one of my all-time favorite bins. ββββββββββββββββββThey fit perfectly in my cupboards, and the handle is very strudy as long as you don't fill the bin with really heavy items (cans).
We've used these for spices before, hot chocolate, oatmeal packets etc.
If I ever see these in store again, I'll be grabbing a bunch more. Even at the new inflated prices.
Do you have a favorite bin? No? Just me? Ok.

A homework station, especially for a child with ADHD, will help your children get the most out of the school year.
But what is a homework station?
A homework station is a designated spot in your home for kids to study and complete homework. It has everything they need, like pencils, paper, and a comfy place to sit. It helps them concentrate and get their homework done.

Just like that...ββββββββββββββββββIt's the last day of August.
Back to school is in exactly one week for my kids.
We have the school bags ready to go and I couldn't be more excited to get back to a regular routine. How about you?
As we're heading towards a new season, I alwasy like to review how things are going around the home. What are we struggling the most with? What are we doing the best with? What are some small changes and improvements I can make to improve our lives a little better?
This weekend I'll be doing a deep clean of the house and our closets to make sure the kids have what they need.
I'll also be setting back up the school lunch packing station.
What will you be doing this weekend?

A handy trick I learned for some of my most overwhelmed days? ββββββββββββββββββUse Post-It Notes and a Sharpie and write down everything that's bothering you or that you need to get done. Stick them on a blank wall or surface.
From there, you can sort into categories:
βοΈ Things out of your control.
βοΈ Things you need to get done asap.
βοΈ Things that aren't either important or urgent.
βοΈ Etc.
One of the best things that can happen with this method, is you figure out you don't have as much to be overwhelmed about as you originally thought.
Alternately, you may find you have more to deal with than you thought, but at least you've already started working on a plan.
Will you try the Post-It Note Method?

Lemme reintroduce myself and this page!
I'm Venassa. I'm a mid-30s mom of 4 kids, trying to run a wild household. It took me years to figure out why I was struggling so hard just to accomplish the basics of life.
We have suspicions of ADHD in 4/6 of our family members and are all awaiting a formal diagnosis.
"Yeah, but why do we need to know this?"
Right..
Because that will change this page and business a bit as well. Where I live, in Eastern Canada, it's expected to take at least 2 years to be diagnosed.
"Two years? That's crazy pants!"
Yup.
So I am learning more about ADHD, how it affects moms, parents, kids and especially running a household.
If you have or suspect you have ADHD, and running your home and life is a bit of a dumpster fire, you're in the right place.
I will share everything we are doing to cut down on chaos and get our home running more smoothly. Solutions that will help families with ADHD and those that don't.
Ready to join? Hit that follow button! Let's lift each other up, celebrate wins, and embrace life's beautiful messiness.
