Happy Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Week!
This week, we are taking a moment to celebrate the incredible educators and staff at Little Explorers Child Care Center who show up every day with patience, kindness, creativity, and care.
Our team works hard to create a warm, safe, and welcoming space where children feel valued, supported, and excited to learn. From comforting little ones during big emotions, to celebrating small milestones, to nurturing curiosity and confidence. The impact you have reaches far beyond our classroom walls.
Being an Early Childhood Educator is not easy work. It takes heart, dedication, flexibility, and a deep commitment to children and families. I am constantly inspired by the way our team supports one another, builds strong relationships with families, and puts children’s well-being first.
To our Little Explorers staff: thank you for the love, energy, and professionalism you bring to the center each and every day. You help shape strong foundations for lifelong learning, and our centre is better because of you.
We are so grateful for everything you do!

Happy National Childs Day!
November 20th is National Child Day in Canada. The Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted on November 20th, 1989. This marked a global commitment to ensure every child is protected, nurtured, and empowered to thrive. This is a time for Canadians to learn and reflect on childrens rights, the well-being of children, and the future of all children. On this special day, we are reminded that children deserve to grow up in a safe, loving environment where their voices are heard and their rights respected.
Let’s continue working together to build a safe and nurturing world for these children. 💙

One of the activities that Little Explorers did this month was collect donations for Anderson House as a way to give back to the community and help the children learn about the importance of kindness, empathy, and helping others in need.
Today, we delivered all of the generous donations from our wonderful families to Anderson House. While we were there, the staff mentioned that they are currently very low on supplies. We’ve attached a picture of their current needs list for anyone who may be able to offer additional support.
Anderson House is a provincial emergency shelter that provides safety and support for women, trans, and non-binary individuals, and their children, who are experiencing violence in their lives. Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference for those in need.

Today, we had the pleasure of having Dawn and Joe from Xclusiv Dance Crew come into our center. These 2 lovely individuals helped us celebrate Winter Wellness Day and Black History Month.
Today, the children learned about different styles of dance, such as hip hop and ribbon dancing. They also had the opportunity to explore and move their bodies underneath a large parachute. The giggles and laughter filled the room this morning as we got our bodies moving.
We are able to officially have a Winter Wellness Day every year because Gord McNeilly introduced Bill No. 108. This bill received Royal Assent on December 4th, 2020. This bill created the Winter Wellness Day Act, which ensures all children in PEI have the chance to engage in 20 minutes of fun activity in order to promote their health and well-being.

Mike Pendergast, locally known as The Music Man, came to Little Explorers Child Care Center today. Mike is a born and raised islander who has spent his entire life surrounded by music. Mike has years of experience offering fun music experiences to children and even has children's music albums out now. It was a great pleasure to have you drop by the center today. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with all of us. 🎶 🎵 🎶 🎵
