With the support of , Tomorrow's Trades is proud to be in Windsor providing an experiential learning based program for individuals who want to become high quality apprentices in the unionized construction sector of Ontario.

We are planning to return in the spring of 2023. Aspiring apprentices can fill out our application now as an expression of interest for future programming.

Thousands of jobs are available in the construction industry, but there is still an 8.5 per cent unemployment rate. Workforce Windsor Essex is involved in a program to teach construction trades to unemployed people.

Heat and Frost Insulators work with more than just heating, cooling and refrigeration systems, they also help reduce the passage of sound, air, smoke and fire. They are essential to every large institutional, commercial and industrial construction project.

Key Skills & Attributes
Strong communication, reading & numeracy skills

Ability to interpret specifications and shop drawings
Physical fitness
Ability to work in diverse weather & at heights
Ability to work with machinery & power tools

Journeyperson Wage Rate:
$43.56/hr

Responsibilities
Read and interpret specifications to select insulation type
Apply insulation materials to plumbing, air-handling, heating, cooling and refrigeration systems, piping equipment, pressure vessels, walls, floors & ceilings
Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, taping & other methods
Measure and cut insulating materials using hand & power tools
Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials
