More signs of fall at Brandson Park as we discovered chestnuts poking our fingers while hiding shiny brown nuts inside.

When we returned we picked the Pumpkin Jack pumpkins and harvested peppers and herbs for our veggie bake.

As fall creeps in the children have been noticing more spiders (inside & outside) and there are mushrooms everywhere. The children have also noticed it is hard to see the mountains in the morning as the fog & low clouds settle into the valley. Changing leaves are the obvious fall indicator but as we slow down and take notice there are so many signs of our seasonal shift.
Even Jayda messaged us this morning with a very cool spiderweb observation.

As we approach September 30, a day we recognize as National Truth and Reconciliation Day.

We would love for you to join us on this day to remember those who were not only affected by residential schools but did not make it home.

There is a walk planned to leave from the Sandman Hotel to the COINS office on Connors road at 10:30. If you are unable to or prefer not to participate in the walk, you are welcome to meet at the COINS office to help call the walkers in.

Ever wonder what Early Childhood Educators do in their spare time?
They sometimes get together with other ECEs to climb a mountain (White Queen) while discussing the pedagogy of weathering and listen to how Early Years Programs in Norway focus on outdoor experiences and learning.

We did not find any fish in Norns Creek while exploring Pass Creek Park. We did find carnival rides, bugs that walk on on water, elk p**p, mushrooms, elk footprints, purple flowers, and a playground.

Kinnaird Park is always a great place to explore!
When we found acorns we transformed into squirrels collecting nuts. Some of the “nuts looked like nipples”. While collecting nuts the squirrels found a ladybug larvae.
Baseball players running the bases, warming up to explore the forest.
The forest was full of crowns, tree holes that became rockets, a crib or a race car, squirrel holes, sticks turned into keys, guns, or walking sticks, a teeter totter and more.
We also had a visit with a couple old friends.

A beautiful morning at the bike park. Lots of up and down and all around then breaks to drink and draw.
Then back to eat “snowman cucumber” with our lunch.
