Dän Hänádän K’enjik (Carmacks Campus) will be closed 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟮 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟱 for the Thanksgiving Day holiday and to attend the Yukon First Nations and Yukon University Summit.

WE ARE HIRING!

We are seeking a First Nation Garment Making - Sewing Instructor to share their knowledge and skills with our community.

This 12-week program, running through mid-January into the spring, will focus on sewing fundamentals, pattern making, and alterations. Projects will include vest making, parka making, and more. Full support and instructor training will be provided.

The Dän Hänádän K’enjik campus in Carmacks is offering a multi-week 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

The Garment Making program is open to learners interested in developing their artistic skills in Indigenous visual arts. This program will include such topics as using a sewing machine, pattern making, jewelry, kuspuks, summer covers, vests and shawls.

Looking to build your chainsaw skills and learn how to operate one safely and confidently? 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝘂𝗸𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 – 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 with Wes Beaven for this hands-on, two-day course!

Participants will learn chainsaw selection, safe operation, basic maintenance and minor repairs, as well as practical limbing and bucking techniques. The course also covers important safety protocols, work standards, and recognizing hazardous situations.

This course is especially recommended for prospective or Level 1 Wastewater Treatment operators, and is relevant to health professionals, supervisors, technicians and homeowners involved and/or interested in wastewater systems.

This 4.5 day course hosted in Carmacks is designed to prepare the participants to write their Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) exam for Wastewater Treatment Level 1 or 2. Attendees need to bring steel toed boots.
