Please keep your little ones safe during the heat wave!
Hoses get hot! Let the water run until cool!
Reapply sunscreen AT LEAST every 2 hours and even more often if swimming or sweating a lot!
Try not to be outside during peak hours and if so, take LOTS of water breaks! Every 15-20 minutes.
Play safe ☀️🕶

I know the weather is a bit rubbish today but apparently another heatwave is on the way ☀️

🚿 2 years ago this baby suffered 2nd degree burns over 30% of his body from being accidentally sprayed with a garden hose and firefighters have issued a fresh warning recently.

👨‍🚒Hoping to prevent this type of accident from happening again, the fire department warned:

🚿 ‘’A garden hose exposed to direct sunlight during summer can heat the water inside the hose (not flowing) to 130-140 degrees Fahrenheit which can cause burns especially to children & animals.

✅ Let the water flow a few minutes to cool before spraying on people or animals"

It’s not something people would immediately think of but with the unusually hot weather lately, it’s worth sharing.

Please take note. Starting tomorrow everyone must complete the screening tool before arrival at daycare. A screenshot of the completed screening tool will be required each morning.
