At Five Star Day Care & OSC, we offer a peaceful nap window with soft lighting, comfy cots, and familiar cues that help children settle at their own pace.

Some drift off quickly; others need a quiet reset. Either way, the goal is the sameโ€”restore energy, protect mood, and keep the day on track.

Educators stay close with a gentle presence, using calm voices and unhurried routines so relaxation never becomes a battle.

If a child wakes early, we provide low-stimulation choices that respect classmates who are still sleeping.

We also collaborate with families on what works at homeโ€”comfort items, a favourite story, or a simple back rubโ€”so resting here feels reassuringly familiar.

The outcome is a calmer afternoon with a good mood and crystal clear concentration.

Teachers foster process versus outcome and pose open-ended questions to spark thinking: What did you see? What is something you can attempt?
Little hands strengthen with every snip, squeeze, and careful brushstroke, while voices grow more confident describing choices and ideas.

We ask families about nap cues that work at home and mirror themโ€”favourite blanket, comfort toy, a short storyโ€”so children recognize the signals and settle with ease.

After rest, we wake slowly and offer water, a stretch, and calm choices before moving back into lively play.

The intention is simple: respect each childโ€™s rhythm and protect the peaceful tone that helps everyone feel refreshed.
