What an incredible example of what can happen when a community comes together.
Last week, Denise had the pleasure of presenting a donation cheque to Mr. Bailey and Jason Silbernagel, President of the Charlie Killam Music Parents Association, as part of the instrument replacement fundraiser for the École Charlie Killam band program.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who donated through the GoFundMe campaign and through direct donations. The support this fundraiser has received has been amazing to see, and it’s a reflection of just how much this community values music, education, and the opportunities this program creates for local kids.
We also want to thank our customers. The Community Connections Program is only possible because Albertans choose Camrose Energy as their local utility provider. Every customer who trusts us with their electricity, natural gas, or Solar Club™ account helps make projects like this possible, and we’re incredibly grateful for that support.
Most importantly, we want to thank Mr. Bailey. For more than four decades, he has helped generations of students discover a love of music, build confidence, make friendships, and create memories that have lasted a lifetime. It’s because of the impact he’s had on this community that the matching goal was reached so quickly.
Thanks to the generosity of this community, new instruments will be in the hands of students this September.
The fundraiser is still ongoing, and there’s still an opportunity to help replace additional instruments and keep music alive for local kids.
